My artist journey into jewelry creation began in grade school where I crafted a beaded pendant for my mother with needle and thread (a keepsake that still resides in my possession) – this ignited my lifelong artistic pursuit. I worked in a bead shop for many years while taking hundreds of hours of classes in metalsmithing. I sold my jewelry in multiple jewelry shows in the south east all the while taking classes from as many instructors as possible, I just couldn’t get enough. A wonderful turning point arrived with metal clay. This amazing medium allowed the look of traditional artistry with a more gentle approach that spared my joints. I became an Art Clay Senior Certified Instructor and began teaching metal clay to share my knowledge gathered from varied jewelry techniques.
